Recommended Bits!!

This is not so much a lesson, but I wanted to list a few of the bits that I personally recommend using.

Aluminum Cutting or Grazing Bit

The aluminum grazing or cutting bit as some call it is an excellent bit to use on horses that are completely finished neck reining horses.  It's a mild enough bit to use on the trail or in the show ring.

Medium Port Pro Reiner

8"cheeks 5½" mouth Attractive and well balanced shank. Purchase is slightly more than medium for quick response and good control. Solid mouthpiece will help in stabilizing the horse's shoulders that want to over flex.

Medium Shanked Snaffle

8" Cheeks.  Designed for Reiners but has a medium length purchase, medium plus shank. Excellent balance, loose cheeks, no pinch mouth. Copper inlaid, sweet iron snaffle. A really nice bit. 5" Mouth.

Copper Mouth EggButt Snaffle

A very mild bit, the Eggbutt Snaffle is designed wide enough to be gentle on the bars and will not pinch the horse’s mouth.
